FALSE alarm

Monday 09/28/2009 workout: 30 minutes bike and elliptical

Tuesday 09/29/2009 workout: 50 minutes elliptical and treadmill

False alarm...... This morning we had a fire alarm go off at work. Some of my co-workers and I started walking towards our "meet up" spot. It's by Coffee Plantation. Well we got there and no one was there. So I took a picture of them standing around. We felt like losers....no one else had left the building. I guess we acted too fast because right after the alarm had gone off someone said it was a false alarm. LOL. Better safe than sorry.

Today the plan is to rest. We usually take two days off during the week. Wednesday is our usual day off and the other we just play by ear. I'm glad that it's rest day because I'm feeling a little sick. I think it's the weather change. Hopefully I don't get too sick. After the gym last night we picked up Subway and watched Biggest Loser. I love that show. Craig thinks it's starting to be a little bit too much of a Sob fest but I still really like it. We don't watch much t.v. because I think we are the only people on earth who don't have cable. ( I know that's just INSANE!)The only shows that we really watch are Biggest Loser and Law and Order. We watch a lot of movies though.

Today on the menu is:
Breakfast: PB&J Sandwich on whole wheat bread w/ 8oz skim milk

Snack: orange, strawberries with yogurt

Lunch: Lean Cuisine Chicken Primavera (I was not looking forward to it but turned out better than I thought)

Snack: Cantaloupe

Dinner: Ground Turkey tacos with corn tortilla, lowfat cheese and avocado (YUM)

I'm looking around at different recipes to try. We are usually pretty creative with our dinner. But for lunch I'm pretty lazy and always end up just getting a Lean Cuisine. If you have any quick and yummy lunch ideas..please share them with me. I've been looking around at different blogs and have found some really good looking meals. I will definitely be trying them. I already have a list of new goodies...I need to go to the grocery store soon. I'm really excited! Also I'm trying something new on my blog that I saw on a few other blogs and I loved. I will be posting pictures of my meals. Thank you all for the great ideas!! I love blog hopping.

Hope you all enjoyed hump Day!!

Need to go shopping...soon

Saturday workout: 50 minutes...treadmill

Sunday workout: 45 minutes hike

Today I am leaving work about 15 minutes early to go to the kickboxing class at my gym. I get off at 5pm and I wouldn't be able to make it by 5:30 pm so I asked my manager if I could flex my schedule which she did approve. I'm really excited about it because I love the kickboxing class. I burn almost 500 calories and it is so much fun. I'll get done by 6:30 pm to do more cardio with Craig and also strength training. I will be doing this every Monday in October. Wooohoo. I'm trying to look good for Halloween and I know this will help.

I think this is SO cute. I think my family would totally laugh if I wore this. This is $10 at Charlotte Russe.
I really like this. They have different colors too. This is from Forever 21. It is $11.50.
They have a lot of different colors in these sweaters. I have a ton of spaghetti straps that I could wear under. For work it is business casual so I think these would be perfect. Forever 21.. only $10.50.
I don't like stripes on me but I think I might make an exception for this sweater. They have a lot colors in these too. Forever 21 for $11.50.

Have a good day everyone!

A little darker but I still like it.

I'm back..... My hair came out a bit darker but I still really like it. I know that after a few days the color fades a little anyway. She combed it a little more curlier than what I usually wear it so I straightened it really quick for the picture. Let me know what you think....=)

So this morning I went running with my sister. As I mentioned before we are training for the P.F. Chang's Half Marathon. This will be her first and I am very excited for her. This morning the plan was to run 3 miles at the track. We started off and it was going great. We were about to finish our third lap when the band started setting up right smack in the middle of the track. Anyway, Craig said that we should run from the school to our parents house. I thought it was a great idea but my sister was a little hesitant. She didn't believe that she could run that far. We convinced her since Craig would be following us in his truck in case we wanted him to pick us up. So we were off. She did awesome and when we got half way I asked her if she wanted to have Craig pick us up. She said...."No we are almost there" I was SO happy at that point. So proud like a Momma. =) So we made it home and I could tell how happy she was that she made it. She was like...." WE ARE HOME!" I was like yup. I told her how proud I was of her and how I knew she could do it. I think this pumped her up for the 5k we have in 2 weeks. She doubts herself a lot but I know she can do anything she puts her mind to. Yay! When we got home we did the "Rocky" move. Arms up in the air and jumping. hee hee. I checked on mapmyrun.com and it was a little over 4 miles total. =)

Tonight we are going to dinner and Halloween shopping. I love Fall and Halloween. I'm so excited for all the holidays and spending them with the people that I love.

Have a Happy Friday!!!!!

When Betty got her groove back!

workout- 50 minutes morning run...with my sister and Craig.

So this is a quick short post. I have an appointment at noon to get my hair done. AKA getting my groove back. LOL. I'm a little bored of the highlighted hair. I need to go a tad (HAMILTON) darker for the fall. I LOVE FALL! Anyway I want to post a couple pics of what i'm kind've going for. I will post pics when I get back with the results. =)

First here is a before picture of my hair:

This is the color i'm going for. I think it's really nice and not too dark.
This is the cut i'm going for. Maybe not as short...I am trying to grow my hair out. I'm used to having longer hair.
Color example again.

I really like the bangs in this picture. I'm going to have my bangs trimmed also.
wish me luck! =)

Reality

09/21/2009 workout- 45 minutes- cardio and ST

" Your goals, minus your doubts, equal your reality. "- Ralph Marston

I was thinking this morning about how much 1 year can make a huge difference in someones life. I know that my way of thinking has changed a lot. Before I was more negative or I would bring myself down a lot more. Little by little I started setting goals and I saw that I was achieving them. I became more confident. I realized that like the quote above states...I had to let go of the doubts and just work towards my goals to make them reality. Over and over I would see my goals being reached. It was such an amazing feeling. I loved that feeling so I continue to set goals now. One of the first goals was to workout for 21 consecutive days. After that to stop drinking soda. Lose 2 pounds a week. Go out to eat only once a week. Look at the nutrition info. before going to a restaurant. So many goals that I have met. These might be little goals but they have made a HUGE difference in my life. At this point in my life my main goal is to maintain. Continue living the healthiest lifestyle that I can. I want to keep working out and still enjoy it. Trying new things....like new hiking places, maybe more spinning classes, yoga...different runs. Hopefully one day a FULL MARATHON. I know that all these things make me happy. Everyone deserves to be happy. Whatever happiness means to each person then they should go for it.

Because I'm talking about goals. I'm going to list mine and in 1 yr come back to them to see where I'm at. =)

~ Maintain Weight (128 pounds)
~ Tone up (abs, legs and arms)
~ Run a Full Marathon ( possibly San Diego 06/2010)
~ Finish a half marathon in 2:30
~ Keep tracking my food everyday
~ Continue tracking my workouts

These are my goals for the next year...what are yours?

Hope you enjoy your day!!

Morning Bike Ride vs Morning Run

workout: 10 mile bike ride

This morning we went to "our" favorite park and rode our bikes. Craig gave me his older bike and it was soo much better. He fixed it up for me. =) So Sweet. The one I used to have was my moms. It would make this noise everytime I would push the breaks. It sounded like a really loud duck. It was horrible. It was also hard to shift gears. I guess that explains why I switched bikes. This one is a guy bike so the handle bars are lower. You would think that it would bother or hurt but not at all. I did feel a lot more comfortable on the guy bike. I really enjoyed not making a duck noise when I was going to stop. It was a little hard for me to get used to it at first. I haven't rode my bike in awhile because of my half marathon training. It was nice to be able to do 10 miles on the bike in 1 hr. It's crazy that when your on the bike it takes so much less work. My legs did feel it everytime I was going uphill though. The down hill parts are also so much more different from when your running. On the bike you are going down hill so fast. When i'm running down hill I try and take it slow because it kind've hurts my ankles. I did tell Craig on one of the uphill parts that " I would rather be running" he laughed at me. I know it's more work or atleast I think it is more when your running but I really do like running more.

Today we are taking my old bike back to my parents house. We are trying a new sandwhich place and i'm going to look at some new running shoes. I'm still not sure if I will be getting them today but there is a HUGE possibility. I will let you know.......

Have a nice Sunday!

Celeb Bikini Bodies

workout- 50minute morning run and 30 day shred

Nothing much today. I went running this morning with Vero and Craig. Vero and I are running the Susan G. Komen race on October 11th. We are pretty excited to do that. It will be a fun pre marathon race so Vero can get pumped. Plus it's for a good cause and I just love it when women get together and support eachother.

I also did 30 day shred. I love how I feel when i'm done. I also cleaned a bit. Tonight we are going to California Pizza Kitchen and maybe the Halloween store. I plan on dressing up as something cute and slutty again. LOL. Fun times. Do you have costume ideas planned yet?

I know that fall is coming and summer is out the door. However, I really like looking at celebrity pictures because they do motivate me. I'm going to be posting just a few celeb bodies that just look great. Also some pictures of celebs in their workout gear. It's nice to see that they also have to work hard to maintain their weight.

Kelly Clarkson
Jennifer Anniston

Britney Spears

Shakira

Fergie Ferg running. This seriously makes me feel like going out and running right now.

Jessica Beil

Britney Spears getting done with a dance workout.

Hope these motivate you as much as they motivate me.

Have a great Friday!

New Season...Biggest L

Workout- 1hr and 15mins..... 30 day shred and cardio at the gym- 09/15/2009

Biggest Loser started last night! It seems that they keep getting bigger people each year. I think they want to show America that anything is possible. I can't wait to see how they look at the end. I'm glad that the Orange shirt kid came back. You can really tell that he wants to be there and he is willing to work for a better life. I love watching it. I get teary eyed throughout the whole show. I really liked when they ran a half marathon last year. I was crying the whole time. I know how it feels to finish something like that and just watching them do it reminded me of that feeling.

Winter is almost here. I can feel it when i'm on my way to work. Yay! Comfy cute sweaters here I come. I need to go on a little shopping spree though. I also want new running shoes. I'm still undecided on which ones I will go with. At this point it's between Nike Pegusus 25 or the 26. I've tried both on and I loved both of them equally. At the Road Runner store they do have the Pegusus 25 on sale for $50. That's a great deal. Everywhere else they seem to be no less than $75. At the Road Runner store they also offer the running test for free. That's also a huge plus. I will hopefully be going in about a month to finally get my new running shoes. I can't wait. I love buying new shoes. These are the ones i'm thinking. They have them in dark and light grey. You know they have to have pink in them too. =)

Have a good day!

Relief.......

workout- 45minutes....elliptical and ST

Since the DHM I have been feeling so relieved. I went running with my sister on Friday and then I ran at the gym on Saturday. It felt good to be running just for fun. Not having to worry about my time and how many miles I was doing. I'm still training for the P.F.Changs Half Marathon in January with my sister. We are both very excited to run one together. We kind've have an idea on what we are going to wear. I'm not going to say until I have a picture with us running in our running gear. =) It's something fun though.

So I'm SUPER sleepy today. I so need a day off to just sleep all day. Maybe this Friday....hmmm... On Saturday night we went to Speedworld and we raced the Taco. We didn't get home until 3am and we had to be up at 5:30 am to go 4 wheeling. It was worth it though. It was so much fun. It was hot, sweaty and AWESOME. I love seeing Craig do his thing. You can just see how excited he get's and how much he loves it. I'm glad that he likes to share that with me. He has so many crazy Jeep ideas that change from one week to the next. I just agree with all of them because I never really know which one he is actually going to do. Plus I don't really know what long arms do for Jeeps... LOL. All I know is that I have a blast everytime I go with him.

Oh and this weekend my dad asked if I was gaining weight again?!!! I was like what the F!! I weigh myself and measure myself once a week. I'm on top of it. Maybe a little insane too but thats okay with me. It took me too long and I worked too hard get to my goal weight. He said that it just looked like it on one of my pictures. I just think he needs to think before he says something like that to me. I mean if you say that to any girl its like..WOW. He should know that it's like 10 times worse if you say it to me. Anyway, I'm A OKAY now.

Also today is the 1st day of our 30 Day Shred Challenge. Two girls from work and I are doing it. Yay! I need to be ready for Halloween. I don't know what i'll be wearing yet but i'm sure it will be short. ;)

Goodnight,

Betty

Resting?!! Me?

So I know that I should be resting my legs after a half marathon but this not going to the gym thing is killing me. I love having the evenings with my Craig but I feel the need to go to the gym. Last night we enjoyed dinner at a reasonable time and I really liked it. However, gym keeps calling my name. I keep thinking of what I want to do. I have a calendar that I keep at work and also one at home. When I workout I write it down on the calendars. I don't like having blanks. I also put my workouts and calories burned on sparkpeople.com and it sucks to not have anything for the last 2 days. I'm going crazy. I still have like 3 days of this. Grrrrr... I don't know if I can do it.

I do have a 5k planned on Saturday morning. I'm also going running on Sunday with my sister. We are getting back on to the P.F.Changs training. I'm glad I have that to look forward to.
Sorry.... I just needed to vent. Short blog. =)

Acutally really quick..... I have been thinking about maybe running a full marathon sometime in the near future. I would really like to run the Rock'N'Roll San Diego Full Marathon on June 06, 2010. The thought alone scares me so much though. I know I can do it. We will see what happens. I'll be sure to let you know.

Have a great day!

When I wasn't running.....I was.......

Going to the Health and Fitness Expo and going to the beach. As soon as we got there Friday we changed and went to the expo. I was very excited to get my race number and my shirt. Cristina was spending the day at Disneyland. They had gotten there earlier for that. At the expo I bought Asic socks and a ifitness belt. Craig also bought my sister and I boy shorts that say super cute things on them. Mine said " I don't chase boys..I pass them" LOVE IT!! I bought a canvas bag at the P.F.Changs Expo that said the samething. My sister got the ones that say " Will run for beer" LOL. Yes we had a lot of fun. At the expo they were having a sneak preview to the ABC show "Modern Family." It was about 22 minutes and it was HILARIOUS. We did also get a free shirt. We also walked around Downtown Disney for a bit.
This is my tough girl face. I never look good in visors or hats.

Yay that's me with my number. I was so happy that it had our name on the bib.
After that we went and had dinner at ESPN Zone. I had the super YUMMY salmon with green beans and mash. I ate it all. It was so delicious. My sister got the Fetuccini Alfredo with Chicken. Whats funny about that is that both me and Craig predicted that was what she would have over an email. I printed the email and when she finished ordering I took out the email. She didn't think it was as funny as we did. We were LOL though...that's for sure. Craig had a burger that looked freakin' amazing. I did have some of his fries. Just a "Tad Hamilton." Saturday we went and had breakfast at Denny's. I was very excited that they substitute egg whites and turkey bacon if u request it. YAY! We then went to our room to get ready for the beach. So here are some pics of us at the beach. After the beach we went to lunch. I wish I could remember the name of the place but I can't. It was a really nice sandwhich place. They had the option of fruit as your side which I was VERY happy about. After lunch we met Cristina and her "crew" at the Expo. Cristina also bought the ifitness belt. We both got the black one with the pink zipper. PINK ROCKS!!!! We then went to dinner at Mari's Pizza and Italian Restaurant. The food was VERY VERY good but the service was not that great. I don't know if it was because they were just super busy or what but it took us over an hour to get seated. After being seated we still waited about another hour to get our food. By the time we were done it was close to 10 pm. I am a crazy planner person and I knew I had to be up by 3:30 am. I was already a little nervous and that really did add to my nervousness. It was all a Okay though. My beautiful amazing boyfriend stopped and bought me bread and peanut butter that way I didn't have to worry about getting breakfast at 4 in the morning. I am so lucky. Overall the trip was pretty cool. It was like a mini vacation. Here are some more expo pictures from the second day. =)

Craig and Vero working on my signs.
Look at Craig's intense face. He is just the cutest.
Cristina bought me a gift at Disneyland. She is so sweet.
Goodnight,
Betty

Disney Half Marathon

I want to start off by saying thanks to my Craig and my sister for always supporting me. I hope that you both know that I am always going to support you too. I love you guys and I can't even explain how much I appreciate you. I also want to say thanks to Cristina for running this with me. It was so much fun and I can't wait to run more with her. One day we will be running a full marathon and it will also be a blast.

On this post I will only be writing about the marathon. I will write about the rest of our trip on another post. There is just so many things to say and pictures to share. =)

The marathon started at 6am and our finish time was 2:54:16. Yay to that!! We both beat our time. Our goal was 2:45 and we didn't make it..so we can't buy ourselves our little gift but that is okay. Beating our old time was gift enough. This course was pretty awesome. It starts off by going into California Adventures where there are characters there to cheer you on and also take pics with. We only stopped once to take a quick picture. I did snap a couple other characters though.

From California Adventures you go into Disneyland. I also took a couple pictures of some characters that were cheering for us. The Disneyland employees were also out supporting us. It was so exciting to hear them clapping and cheering us on.
The whole experience was awesome. I didn't know the course very well as I did with the P.F.Changs so everything that we ran past was new to me. I just kept looking around and the time went by pretty quick. We did starting feeling our legs ache around the 10th mile. That is when we kept pumping eachother up. We were a great team and had so much fun. I took my camera with me. I loved how chicrunner did that for her San Francisco Marathon and I thought it was a great idea. I loved having the camera with me and being able to record the run. Craig made me a video which is the Disney Half Marathon from the runner's point of view.

Here are some before, during and after pictures that I want to share also.
I know that's a lot of pics but I hope you enjoyed them.
I will be posting pictures from the expo's and the beach tomorrow. The whole trip was really great and we hope to possibly do it again next year.

Goodnight

Betty
