P90X and Snow Day

This weekend was AWESOME!!! Friday I had great workouts that included P90X and running with my sister. Friday night we went shopping and to dinner. I bought a cute nike top and I'm sure you will see it sometime soon on my blog. On Saturday morning Craig and I did P90X together since we both had to do the same dvd. It was Kenpo X and it was about an hour long. I really like it though and I burned a lot of calories. This is Craig working out...
And this is Craig and I saying BRING IT!!!
So far I'm loving this program and I plan on sticking to it. It has been a bit hard to fit in running and doing this everyday but I will make it happen. After working out I went to my parent's...every Saturday I try and make it to my parent's for a few hours. My sister, mom and I went out to lunch and talked. Saturday night Craig and I had planned to go watch a movie and also go to dinner. We went to Jason's Deli and I had a grilled chicken wrap that also included jalapenos. Well as soon as we stepped out of the restaurant my stomach was killing me. I could barely walk..it hurt so bad. I asked Craig if we could skip the movie and we went home. He was awesome as always and took care of me. I don't know if it was the jalapenos or what but I felt horrible. He made me some tea and I layed down. This morning I woke up feeling much better and decided to go along with our plans for the day. We had breakfast and got ready for our Snow Day!! I put on 3 pairs of socks, my black tights under my jeans, and like 3 tops including a long sleeve. I also took 2 sweaters and more socks...Just incase. I need to buy a big jacket for when we go to the snow. When we got there most of the roads were blocked off because of so much snow but we found a spot and had SO MUCH FUN. We went sledding for a bit and made some snow balls.
The drive up was fun..we listened to The Beatles White Album and Craig we sang along.

Craig made a snowball and threw it at me.....
I made found a HUGE snowball and tried to throw it at him!

Sledding was fun. It was my first time doing it and I was a bit scared at first but got over it pretty fast. On our way home we stopped at had lunch at Knotty Pine. We were both pretty hungry by then. Walking in the snow is quite a workout. We were both so tired by the time we got home. We took a nice nap and woke up even more tired but had to get over it quickly because we had plans with my sister. We wanted to go to a different Sports Authority to check out the shoes there. My sister found some she really liked. She said they feel really light and the cushion on the heel is what she was looking for. We are running tomorrow so we will see how they do. These are it.....

She bought a couple running shorts and I bought another running nike shirt and some nike running compression shorts. I'm very happy with my weekend purchases. I needed new workout clothes badly. Plus it's fun to get cute workout clothes once in awhile...helps keep me motivated. =)

Question: What are some things that help keep you motivated to live an active life?

Hope you all had a great weekend!!

My foot is better!

Happy Friday!!! This week went by pretty fast for me. I had Monday off so that helped. This week I started P90X and I LOVE IT so far. I've been sore since Monday. I also went running with my sister today and my foot felt awesome. I can still feel it a little sore once in awhile but overall I feel great. Good thing too because I have a half marathon to run on March 7th. We booked the hotel this week so we are all set to go. I haven't registered yet because I was waiting for my foot to get better but we are registering in a couple of weeks. I'm really excited about running the El Paso Half Marathon because my sister is finally going to run her 1st half. Woohoo! I am so excited for her. I know she will love it. Tonight we are going to Sports Authority for a few things and she is going to check out some running shoes. She says her shins really bother her and I think it's her running shoes. She has had these shoes for YEARS and she needs new ones. I know that's one of the issues.
We aren't sure what we plan on wearing yet. I know...that doesn't really matter as long as we are ready but a girls gotta look cute too.

Last night Craig and I watched "This is it" and I loved it. He still had the moves....
This morning after breakfast I watched "He's just not that into you"
This movie is SO right on. I loved the Jennifer Aniston/Ben Affleck story. I'm glad that they ended up together.

I didn't have a lot going on today or this week. Sorry for the lame post.

Today on the agenda:

~ Wash dishes
~ Laundry
~ Nails
~ P90X-Legs & Back, Ab Ripper X
~ Make dinner
~ Sports Authority

Have a great weekend!!!

Slumber Party and P90X

Is it Monday already?! This weekend went by so fast. I had a wonderful weekend, full of laughter. On Friday Craig and I tried out a new restaurant. We went to Kabuki Japenese restaurant. Craig had beef teriyaki and I had Salmon. Our meal started out with Miso soup.

They both came with salad and brown rice. My Salmon was delicious and I ate most of it. It was a lot of food. The night ended with a movie at home.

On Saturday I went to my parents and did some shopping with my sister and brother. I also said good bye to my dog...the one our family dog had a couple of months ago. I wasn't sure if I was going to be bringing him home and by Saturday had made the decision to let my Aunt have him. I know I don't have the time right now that the puppy will need. I was a bit sad about it but I know it's for the best.

Saturday night Craig and my sister had planned a "Slumber Party" for my bday. I was super excited about this idea because this meant that I could wear pajamas and we wouldn't have to go anywhere. LOL. The lazy in me came out. We had such a great time. I'm glad that I can say my sisters are my friends and when I think about who to hang out with...they are the ones I think of. So my two sisters, their friends, Craig and I had our pj's on and hung out. We played Twister....

We danced A LOT!!!

Craig is such a goofy nerd..adorable!!!

We took a couple of group pictures
We fell asleep pretty late. After the games were over we decided to put in a movie and talk. When we woke up in the morning we were all pretty hungry. Where else do you go when your a bit hung over and want cheap food?! DENNY'S!! LOL.

Yup we went in our pj's.That's what's up!! LOL
We spent most of the day watchign movies and playing Scene it. My little brother came over and we all went out to dinner. We decided on something cheap again...Cici's pizza.

When everyone left Craig and I finished watching the football game. We were both so tired and both fell asleep on the couch. We were OUT cold.
This morning I woke up to a lot of text messages. I was so happy to wake up to Craig and the people I love wishing me the best. Craig then gave me my bday gifts. One of those gifts was....

YAY!! I have been wanting one of these FOREVAH!!!! I also got a Sports Authority gift card. Can't wait to go shopping!!!
Most of the day I've been relaxing. I love doing this on my birthday. I request it off every year and I enjoy it being SUPER lazy during the day. I watched Waterworld and The Ugly Truth. I also made a delicious lunch consisting of Tilapia, veggies and brown rice.

My eyes were bigger than my stomach because I couldn't finish it all. I left half of it for tomorrow.

And now....I'm about to start p90x. Eeeek! I am super nervous but ready to start something new. I hope I get great results. This weeks dvds are..

Monday-Core Synergistics
Tuesday- Cardio X
Wednesday- Shoulders & Arms, Ab Ripper X
Thursday- Yoga X
Friday- Legs & Back, Ab Ripper X
Saturday- Kenpo X
Sunday- Rest or X Stretch ( I think we are hiking)

After my workout I'm getting ready for dinner. Craig is taking me out for my bday. =)

Have a great night peeps!!

Catch up time...

Okay so since last Sunday all I've done is talk about the P. F. Chang's Rock N Roll Marathon..... I am so sorry about that. I hope I still have some readers out there. I was just so pumped about the whole thing and I had so many pictures I wanted you all to see. =) I promise this post is not about the run.....

I need to catch up on a few things:

1) On Monday we went to the Barrett-Jackson Car Auction. We knew we were not buying a car. LOL. We just wanted to go look around. It was a lot of fun and not what I excpected. My foot was still very sore on Monday so it took us longer to walk through the whole thing but it was a nice day and we really enjoyed it. I wanted to treat Craig to something for being so supportive and I knew this was something he would really like. I wanted so many cars...too bad there isn't any money, cash, dinero, mula, currency. LOL...I'm a dork. I did take a picture with my future car though.

2) I told you about some granola bars we got from the expo. Well I finally tried one on Tuesday and it's super good. Craig loves them too. He's eaten most of them.

3) It's been raining all week here in Arizona. I LOVE it!! It's the best. Craig said that by the end of the week I would be tired of it but it's Friday and I'm NOT!! It's just so comfy. I will say that I feel lazier on a rainy day though. Also the tree infront of our place was knocked over.

Here is a picture from this morning. I love waking up to the sound of the rain on our window. I woke up in such a great mood knowing I didn't have to go to work and knowing Craig was next to me.

4) Biggest Loser... I am a die hard fan. I've been watching this show for a few seasons but lately I feel so irritated when I'm watching it. I found myself yelling at the t.v. with this weeks episode. I would have sent Michael home. If he isn't working as hard as the others then he needs to go home. I know there is a lot that we don't see. I just hope he takes advantage of the opportunity.

5) Monday is my birthday!! Eeeek.. I will be 26 years old and to celebrate Craig is taking me out. We are also having a "Slumber Party" tomorrow night. I'm sure I will have fun pictures to post. We are playing games and just staying up most of the night. I don't really like to go out and this is more my type of thing. It will only be about 6 of us but I know we will have a ton of fun. I'm really exited. I also plan on drinking...which I haven't really done in about 2 years!!! Let's see how my stomach handles that. hahaha I've been known to have a really bad hangover the next day.

Tonight Craig and I are going out to dinner. We are craving Japanese food and have a place in mind. We also need to go to a couple of stores for some last minute things we need for tomorrow. About to hop in the shower and get ready....have a good night!

Cristina's P.O.V.

Hi bloggies!! The weather here in AZ is awesome. It's been raining all week and I can't wait for Craig to get home so we can cuddle. =)

Today's blog post is a little different. I am posting pictures from the camera I carried with me throughout the whole race so you can see what we saw. I also asked my friend and running partner to write a blog post for today. I want you also to know what was going through her head and how she felt during the race.... Here is my friends post..........

"All week I was very nervous for the P.F Chang's half marathon. I started to feel soreness in my shins, which I figured would go away! I tried not to think about being nervous and just enjoy the exciting weekend with Bety. At the expo Bety and I hoarded all the free stuff we could get our hands on, that was really fun and very Mexican of us! By the time I got home I was exhausted and then it was time for our carb load dinner at Z Tejas!

The morning of the race I couldn’t wait to go to Bety’s house because I was so NERVOUS I felt sick! It was reassuring to see her and know that I had the best running partner with me. It made me feel so good to see that Bety’s entourage made a sign for me! I felt pumped up! When we got there I had to pee of course…. Not once, not twice, but three times! We went to meet my friend Craig to say a prayer before the race…that prayer really gave me peace in my heart and reassurance that no matter what, God was with me.

Bety and I got in our spots before the starting line and to our surprise Senator John McCain was up on the podium and he was dancing! That really got me excited and I urged Bety to take pictures of him! Lol He totally waved at us.

As soon as we started running I got nervous again… I was thinking.. “Can I really do this?” and suddenly I got a shooting pain in my right ankle, it hurt so bad I wanted to punch the wall! Then that pain spread up to my shins. I was thinking, ”How in the hell did this happen?” I stopped for 5 seconds to massage my legs, which didn’t really help, but inside I was thinking I have to finish and I have to keep running. I ran through the pain and Bety really was my guardian angel because she was with me the whole way supporting me and sticking by my side. One of the songs that really pumped me up was Ke$ha’s Tik Tok, and Bety and I started to crack up because a group of ladies were on the sidelines and started to sing that same song as we passed them.

The first supporters I saw were my dear friend Ramon and his sister Eunice, I was so excited to see them that I ran and gave them hugs! I don’t think people realize how important it is to have people supporting you. It gives me a boost of confidence and energy! My dad was at several spots along the way taking pictures! He even started to run with us for a few seconds! That was pretty cool! My mom and sister met us at two spots and I loved seeing big smiles on their faces, it motivated me.

By the time we were approaching the finish line I was so emotional and so happy I couldn’t help but have a huge cheesy smile on my face! I was so disappointed in the time being my worst yet, but at the same time I have to look at the circumstance and be proud that I kept going and finished. This quote is one of my favorites right now... "

“The miracle isn’t that I finished, the miracle is that I had the courage to start”-John Bingham

That's it for tonight ladies. Have a good night!!!
Thank you Cristina for running P.F.Chang's with me and for writing this post. Loves you!

Race Recap & LOTS of pictures

Like the title says..I have a lot of pictures to show you so I hope you are comfortable....

I woke up Sunday morning at 4:50 am. I was feeling pretty good other than my right foot being a little sore.  After my shower I had breakfast. For breakfast I wanted to go with the usual to be safe...I decided on toast with peanut butter and agave on top. I was planning on having a green monster but decided it would probably be safer if I didn't. I wasn't sure if it would upset my stomach and that was not something I wanted to risk. We left my house at about 6:40 am. The half marathon didn't start until 8:30 am but I wanted to be there early to see my friend Chris start the full marathon at 7:40 am. I wasn't sure how far we would have to park or how crazy the traffic would be and I thought it was better to be safe than sorry.

I put my number on....

Made sure my ipod was ready to go.

Stretched......

Went to the bathroom....

I had my finger ready on the start button of my Polar....And we were off!!!!

This was about the 7th mile mark. I was feeling really good and confident. I was so happy to see Craig and my sister there. It's such an automatic boost when you see your family and friends cheering you on.

My right foot was bugging me but I decided that I would ignore it as much as possible. I knew that if I focused on my foot that I would not enjoy the race. By this time I kind of knew that we wouldn't be meeting our "goal" time of 2:45 because of the pace we were going at. Every mile that passed by I would look at my time and know that even if we did pick up the pace we were probably not going to finish until after 3 hours....which I'm not going to lie was really hard for me to be okay with. I really had my heart set on 2:45 and knowing that I would finish later then the my first half marathon time was really hard for me. I kept my spirits high and enjoyed most of the race. It was a lot of fun being able to run another half with Cristina.

Here we are about to cross the finish line. I wanted to capture this moment on camera and recorded most of it. Craig and my sister were there at this point and I felt great. Knowing that we were almost done and seeing my family was so emotional.

After crossing the finish line we got our finishing metals and also snacks. I took more than what they probably wanted me to. LOL.

My family

My friends

My love

My running partner...Cristina

and her dog Fred

My injury.....

I knew that it was bugging me the whole run but I didn't think that it would be bruised or swollen. It's a bit better today. It will be back to normal in no time. Right now I'm feeling great about the run. I know that I want to do more and more. Even though every part of your body hurts and you swear to not run another race in your life...once it's over you feel AMAZING. It's one of the best feelings in the world. Next year I plan on running the P.F.Chang's Full Marathon. I'm nervous to start training for it but I know it's something I want to do and determined to do.

Question: What's one thing in your life that you know you want to achieve and know it will be hard but want it anyway?
