Won My First Blog Giveaway!!

Tuesday workout: 35 minutes on Treadmill (incline 5-11) Crunches and ST

Yes gals the title says it all. I won my first blog giveaway!! I am so excited. I entered Becca's (http://rebeccastaggs.blogspot.com/) Fage Giveaway last week and won. =) It made my day. Just in time for Thanksgiving. I'll be looking for Thanksgiving recipe's in which I can add the greek yogurt. If you have any ideas please send them my way.

I didn't do a weekend recap but I do have a video from our weekend at the dunes. We had a lot of fun, especially when it was so windy that our tent was almost flat. It was pretty funny when we were trying to get all our stuff together and the wind kept blowing our tent everywhere. We were laughing so hard that we almost fell on the ground. I love that Craig doesn't let situations like that get to him. He turns everything into something fun. We could've easily got mad and threw everything into our truck but we just enjoyed ourselves. Even when we had sand in our ears. LOL. Check out our video and let me know what you think.

Another awesome thing I did today was.... register Craig and I for our first race together. Craig started running in August with my sister and I and he is now ready for his first race. I am SO excited to experience this with him. We will be running the Mi Amigo's Turkey Trot. We will be wearing our matching shirts. I know it's super nerdy but I am so excited for that. hee hee




Oh and another thing I got today.....




I got my calendar for 2010 already. I keep my workouts documented everywhere. LOL. It's kind of crazy. I have a calendar at work, in my purse and one by my desk at home. I just like to see what I've done for the month. I like to see where i'm slacking and need to focus more on. Right now I would say I'm slacking. It's just so cold outside and it gets so dark that I just want to go home and cuddle with Craig. LOL. Its the truth people. But I haven't let it get to me. I still workout atleast 4-5 days out of 7. I think that's pretty good. My body needs to rest too. Anyway, back to what I got in the mail today. I got a book as you can see. I don't really know what to expect from it yet but I will let you know how it is.

Perfect Run

Friday workout: 5 mile run- 554 calories burned

Good morning!!! Yay to Friday and the weekend!




That's the cloudy view I had this morning while I was running. It was great. It started it out a little rough. I barely slept last night because of my stomach ache and this morning I was not feeling any better. I decided to just run 3 miles and go from there. I'm glad that I convinced myself to atleast give it a shot because it was a really nice run. I felt great the whole time and I love running when it's cloudy. My new running shoes felt great. They felt so bouncy and I didn't feel any pain in my left knee. I was starting to feel pain on my left knee the last few runs. I thought it had something to do with my old shoes. I love them but I know I've had them for a year already. I ran a few 5k's and 2 half marathons. It was time for new shoes and I think I made the right decision with the LunarGlide. Today's run was one of those runs when everything feels perfect. I saw kids going to school, mom's saying bye to their kids as they go to school, people on their morning walks and runs. When I reached the half way mark to come back and complete 3 miles I decided to keep going because I felt so good. When I'm having that good of a run I feel like I need to take advantage of it so I did. After my run I made Craig and I breakfast burritos. Scrambled eggs with spinach, green bell pepper, onion and some cheese on a whole wheat tortilla.



I am all out of spinach so I was not able to have a green monster this morning. =( I will have to get some on Sunday so I can have some on Monday for work. We will be gone this weekend to the dunes. We have a lot of this to look forward to.....





Last week we went to the Kelly Clarkson concert. I posted a video last night but I have some pictures from that night. Sorry it's almost a week later but I haven't had time to post them. Before the concert we had dinner at Zoe's Kitchen. It's a healthy restaurant with amazing food.

Since You've Been Gone Video

Thursday workout: REST

Good Evening......

I took another rest day today. I had a really bad stomach ache and decided to skip the gym. I plan on running tomorrow morning and going to work for some OT. It will be my first run outside with my new running shoes. I will be sure to post how it goes. I'm excited to see how they feel on the pavement. It's crazy how excited I get about little things like that. A few years ago I wouldn't have felt this way. It makes me feel very happy.

 I don't really have much tonight but I wanted to post the link to the Kelly Clarkson video Craig made for me. Hope you enjoy it. Like I said before it was an awesome concert and I hope to go to her next one too.

Working on a Holiday



Sunday workout: 2hrs and 30 mins. hike
Monday workout: 40 minutes cardio and ST
Tuesday workout: 25 minutes 30 day Shred

Happy Wednesday!!! We are getting closer and closer to Friday. Yay. So I haven't blogged in about 3 days but I have been reading everyone's posts. =)

I'll go ahead and do a weekend recap since I never did. On Saturday we went to the Kelly Clarkson concert and we had a blast. I took pictures and should have them up by this week. Craig is also working on a video for me to post. It was so awesome. She has such an amazing voice and doesn't need all the extra stuff to make a good concert. I love her.
On Sunday morning we went hiking. It was a new trail for us.  Windcave Trail wasn't very difficult but it was very scenic. The trail is 3.2 miles and can take about 1.5-2 hrs round trip. Once we reached the cave we decided to keep exploring so it took us 2 hrs and 30 minutes. The weather was really nice and we had a good time. I burned 618 calories... not bad for a fun time with my Craig.



 
Monday was pretty much just working and then going to the gym after work. On Tuesday we had a potluck at work and let's just say I enjoyed a lot of the food. It's not like I do this a lot so I don't feel guilty. =) After work I decided to do 30 Day Shred since it has been awhile. I set my ipod on shuffle and muted Jillian. It was a great workout and I was drenched when I was done. Today is my rest day and I plan on taking advantage of it. I have to get ready for the weekend. We are leaving to the dunes on Saturday and I need to pack. We are just going for one night but it's one night of camping in sand so it can get pretty messy. We love going to the dunes and I'm sure we will have a lot of fun. I have a video I will post this week from previous times that we have gone. Fun times.

New Running Shoes

Thursday workout: 1hr- cardio, ST and crunches
Friday workout: 45 minutes- run with Craig


TGIF!!! I'm feeling a bit better today. When I first woke up my throat was hurting but I still went for a run with Craig. I was really excited because this would be our first run ALONE together. Usually he will ride his bike around me to make sure I'm okay or my sister will be running with us. Today it was just us two and I loved it. It was nice running next to him and enjoying the nice weather we had this morning. After our run I made us breakfast. I made scrambled egg with spinach, cheese and corn tortilla. I didn't take a picture though. I was hungry. =)

When Craig was off to work I was off to Sprouts. I bought two new items that I have never tried before. I've seen them on other blogs a lot and decided that I MUST try them. The first is Chobani greek yogurt. One is Strawberry flavored and the other is honey flavored. YUM. I also bought Annie's Mac and Cheese. I'll be making this some time next week. I'm not sure what I'm having for lunch yet but I think I might go with a wrap.




After doing a little shopping I came home for a little nap. I was woken up by my honey. Craig was calling as he usually does when he has a break. Then I heard the doorbell ringing. What was it?!!! It was.......





My new shoes!!!!!!!!!!! YAY. I put them on and ran around my house like a lunatic. They feel great and I can't wait to take them out for a run! I'm so excited. It was like Christmas for me today. I still really love pink but I'm glad I went with a different color. The yellow is so bright. I love it.

Yummy in my tummy

Monday workout: 30 minute run on treadmill and crunches
Tuesday: Rest day

Hello! Happy hump day. I stayed home from work today. I have a really bad ear ache and my throat hurts so I decided to take it off. I rested most of the day but tonight I have to go to my parents house. I wish I could just stay home and rest more because I know that I need it but I have to go. My sister is going to be having a really huge important conversation about life changes and she asked me to be there. We will see how tonight goes. I think I'm more worried then she is.

For lunch today I made tilapia fish grilled in olive oil and vegetables. It was so good.... Yummy in my tummy

I would say. =) I really wasn't hungry. I think it has to do with being under the weather but I know I have to eat. I don't know what is for dinner yet. Which is unlike me but since I'm going to my parents I really don't know how long the conversation will take and didn't want to plan anything with Craig incase it takes longer then I have planned.

One thing I did do today is download a couple of the yoga videos from yogadownload.com which I got from http://chasingthenow.wordpress.com/ So far so good. It was easy to download it and they do have a lot of free 20 minute videos to try. One of the ones I got was Yoga for runners. I'll let you know how that goes when I try it.

Oh and I figured out what the yellow fruit thing was that I got from Bountiful Baskets. It's a Guayaba. It was pretty good. It wasn't the best but it was tasty. I still have a few left to enjoy.  Here is  close up of the fruit.



Okay bloggies I gotta go. I want to sweat out some of my sickness before I go to my parents. I hope it works because I'm back to work tomorrow. Oh and we are going to the Kelly Clarkson concert on Saturday. I am sooo excited for that. We went last year when she came and it was the best concert ever. She is awesome. I hope I feel better by then because I am really looking forward to it.

Halloween

Happy November!!


Weekend recap...... This was Saturday night. Getting ready to go out with my sisters, Craig and my sisters husband. We decided to go out to Mill Avenue and then dancing afterwards. Basically on Mill Ave. we would be walking around and checking out the crazy and fun costumes.




Craig and I as a nerd and school girl. This was the second costume I got. This was a last minute costume that we put together. Craig really liked the idea of me being a school girl and I wasn't against it. =)


My sister Vero was an Angel and my sister Paula was a witch. We love hanging out together and being nerds.  Mill Avenue turned out to be a lot of fun. There was SO many people there. We saw a few crazy constumes. Some were pretty scary. We wanted to go dancing after but my little sister got sick and decided to go home. It was still a great night. I didn't complain about going home. I was pooped. The crazy night life is just not for me. I will enjoy it once in awhile but I'm a stay home kind've gal.

Sunday was a nice day of resting. We woke up at 8 and that was sleeping in to us. It felt good to sleep in for the first time in a VERY long time. We watched Nascar and took many much needed naps. After resting we went to 3 Sport Authority stores in search for the LunarGlide running shoe. They didn't have them in the color I wanted so I ended up ordering them online. I did try them on at the store and ran around the store like a crazy person. I wanted to make sure that they were what I wanted before placing my order. They should be here in about 6 business days. Yay! Can't wait to get the box with my new running shoes.

Today Craig gets off an hour later then usual. I think he will have that schedule for a few months. Which means I will be working out SOLO. I'm okay with that. We still get to have dinner together and that's way important to us. I will be getting home from the gym around the same time he is getting home from work. He'll be going to the gym in the morning now. This might mean that I'll have more time to blog during the week. We'll see. (as Craig always says)
