Boom Boom Pow

Happy Halloween!!!!!!!!!!!!


Dancing dancing and more dancing....that's what I did last night. Craig and I decided to go to Cadillac Ranch for a Pre Halloween Celebration. I wore this.....

This is my costume for the 1st night of our celebrating. Tonight I will be wearing costume # 2. Craig also dressed up. As this.........................................

He was a nerd. He looked SO cute. The costume I'm wearing tonight goes with his nerdy costume. I wasn't planning on having 2 costumes but it happened. So must enjoy both. Tonight we are going out with my sisters. Let's see what tonight brings. Last night we danced a lot. Craig and I had never danced anything other then slow dances so this was something new to us. We really enjoyed ourselves and are excited for tonight. I also saw Jack from Nightmare Before Christmas and asked him if I could take a picture with him. he said yes!!

He won most creative costume of the night. And I got to take a picture with him!!! LOL.

This morning we went to pick up our Bountiful Basket of goodies again. I got a few things that to be honest I don't know what they are. But I will figure it out and find a yummy recipe to use them. I don't know what the yellow small ones on the lower right corner are. They kind've look like lemons but they aren't. I'm going to look online to see if I can figure out what they are. If you know please let me know. =)


I love the way I'm feeling now that I'm eating more vegetables. I am still drinking a Green Monster almost every morning. I have my friends at work drinking them also. They are just so good and so many ways to make them.

I'm about done here. I have to clean my restroom since the chicas will be over later to get ready for tonight. I also need to do my nails.

Inspired

This week has been crazy!!!! I kept thinking I would have time to write a quick catch up blog but it wouldn't happen. I'm even behind on "Modern Family." LOL. I've been reading all of your posts though. I'm really excited for Halloween. I love chic runner's costume. If you haven't had a chance to check it out..here is the link. We have plans for Saturday night but we are thinking about going out Friday night also. Hey we have to put that expensive costume into good use. hee hee. I just wish that I felt better health wise. I've been feeling like I'm getting sick for the last month. One day I will feel fine but then a day like today I feel like I have a cold. I really think my body is fighting it. I WILL KEEP FIGHTING.

This is kind've a late post but I still want to post a blog about it so here it is ladies........ On Tuesday I noticed a co-worker go into the restroom in business casual clothes and come out in running gear! My friend was with me and  saw my face light up. She said that almost everyday the girl goes for a run during lunch. I know it might be kinda weird but it gave me hope people. Hope that one day when I have much more to do (even though I feel super busy now) But one day when I have kids that I will still make time for myself to do the things that I enjoy. I'm sure I will love being a mom but I know how important running and staying active is to me. Now I know that no matter how busy we are that there is never an excuse to not make just a little time to be active. I've seen people make excuses left and right about not having enough time. Tuesday kind've proved to me that everything is possible. It INSPIRED ME.


Also a new song that I am LOVING right now is the new Shakira " Give it up to me" It will be adding it to my ipod this weekend!!!! It's a must have. If you haven't heard it here is for you.

Oh today my training team bought me a cake and gave me a Sports Authority gift card! It was my last day working with them. I'll only be on the other side of the building but it felt like I was going to a completely different building.
You know what that gift card means?!!! NEW SHOES!!! I've been waiting and waiting to buy my new shoes because I just can't seem to make up my mind. But I think I've decided. FINALLY!!!! Check these out......

They have them in pink and gray too which I really like since I'm a pink girl but I think I'm going for something new. These colors would not be something I usually go with but I'm really liking them together. If you have these or know of anyone that does please let me know if they are good running shoes. Camelback Mountain Hike- Cholla Trail

Saturday workout: 30 minutes: bike and crunches
Sunday workout:: 2hrs: Hike


Oh lovely Sunday. You all know I love my Fridays but I enjoy my Sundays so much. We usually do something "active" in the morning and just relax most of the day. This morning we hiked Camelback Mtn. We were going to hike Echo Canyon Trail but there wasn't any parking so decided on Cholla Trail instead. We like both trails so we were okay with that. There were so many people on the trail. It was a good morning for a hike. The weather was nice and the feeling was right. =)



After our hike we were super hungry so we went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. I was surprised that they offered healthier options. You're able to get egg beaters and turkey sausage. They also had a breakfast that included yogurt, apple, grapes two eggs and turkey sausage. I didn't get that but I did get 2 eggs with turkey sausage and pancakes. I only 1 pancake. It was a lot of food. I took a picture of the cute syrup bottle. Atleast I thought it was cute.



We then came home and took a nice long nap. It was very much needed. The rest of the day was a lot of relaxing. We are watching the Cardinals game right now. I'm also grilling some veggies for the week.

Making my final decision

This week I was WEAK on the workouts but we still have this weekend. =)

Tuesday workout: 1hr and 20 mins.- elliptical, treadmill, ST and Crunches
Thursday workout: 1hr- elliptical, ST and crunches
Friday workout- 30mins.- morning run/walk


Good Evening everyone!!!

I had a nice relaxing day today. This whole week I felt like I was barely moving. I was so tired from last weekend. I finally got to rest a bit today. I watched "Run Fat Boy Run"  That movie is so good. I especially like the part when he hits the wall and just runs through it. Very motivating. I had girl time which included doing my nails and watching Friends. I washed and finally put everything away from my luggage. It was on the floor in the living room this whole week. It was driving me crazy!!!!! I washed dishes, swept and cleaned our bedroom. I feel so productive. =)

Tonight's plans are going to Jason's Deli and  Halloween shopping....which brings me to the title of my post. I MUST make my final decision. I have put it off long enough. I've gone Halloween shopping so many times already but just can't seem to decide on something. OH THE DILEMMA in my life! lol. Anyway, wish me luck........

Last night for dinner we had Subway and came home to watch Modern Family and Cougar Town. It seems that a lot of people are watching these shows. They are super funny and to be honest I'm a little tired of reality shows (NOT TBL) so I'm happy they brought something new out. We did try out a new treat last night.  It's the weight watchers ice cream cups. I couldn't find a better picture and it was so good I forgot to take a picture. IT was delicious. We tried the cookies and cream one.


We usually eat these but I decided to buy something new for us to try. I recommend both. =)


Tomorrow morning we are going to the gym and Speedworld at night. Sunday we are hiking Camelback Mountain. I'm so excited to finally go hiking again.

MIA

Sorry I've been MIA for so long. I've really missed you all.  We had a family emergency on Friday and had to leave the country. It was very scary because I haven't been out of the country in so long. I won't go into too much detail but we lost someone and had to go for a funeral. It was all very sad and also put so much into percpective. We take so much for granted. I love my life and everyone in it. I love that I still have a job and that I still enjoy it. I love my wonderful boyfriend, so sweet, caring, supportive, honest and so many other things. I love my amazing family...my sisters are my best friends. We have always been there for eachother and always will be. My parents rock. They may be a little strict at times but it's for our own good. My little brother....he is growing up so freakin' fast. My niece so smart and such a brat. LOL. My goofy friends. I am just so grateful for everything in my life. My health. I may not have all the money in the world but I feel like the richest. I enjoy everyday of my life. Craig has been one of the people that taught me to try new things....to not be scared. When I am with him...I'm not scared. I feel so protected. I guess I can go on forever about how great my life is but I won't. I just want to say that I'm glad to be alive and to have everyone that I love with me.


Today I am going to the gym right after work. I am running 3 miles, crunches and ST. My body SO needs a workout. It was a stressful weekend. I need to destress and working out is what helps me do that. Oh and when I got back I noticed I had 2 fitness magazines waiting for me. I love getting magazines in the mail. It's like a gift everytime. I have one with me today to read while working out and I'm saving the other one for tomorrow. Also planned for tonight..... Biggest Loser! Woohooo! We are making turkey burgers for dinner. YUM. I need to unpack too. I have everything still in my luggage. So much to do on Friday. I'm looking forward to it though. Hopefully we will go hiking on Sunday. I miss it so much and I'm happy that the weather is finally nice. If we go I will definately be posting pictures.

Wooohoooo Friday is SO close.

Tuesday workout: 1hr and 10 minutes- elliptical and treadmill

Good morning!

This morning is going pretty well. For breakfast I had oatmeal with granola and a Green Monster. I don't eat oatmeal very much but when I do...OH YUM. The granola also makes a huge difference. It was DELISH! Thursday's are great...especially when it's 5pm and I'm going home. I brought my workout clothes with me today. I decided to have another GREAT workout today. This week has been a good workout week. I think I'm back on my regular workout routine. For the last month it was getting a little crazy. I was still working out at least 4 days a week but I was starting to feel like I wasn't pushing myself. We usually have 2 days off from working out...which are Wednesdays and Fridays. On Sundays we usually go bike riding, hiking or running. Now that the weather is getting better we will be going hiking a lot more often. Which means more pictures!!!! =)


For breakfast yesterday I had 1egg scrambled with green bell pepper, tomato, onion, and spinach.



Yesterday for lunch I had a slice of pizza from Mondays dinner. You can barely see it but I do have veggies on the pizza. We have onion, red and green peppers. I wanted to add spinach but I forgot. =( We also added turkey pepperonis. I had salad with the slice of pizza.


Today for lunch I just brought a lean. I didn't have enough time to make lunch this morning. I was making Green Monster and getting my snacks ready. A lean cuisine once a week shouldn't be so bad. I'm okay with that.

The workout plan for today is 30 minutes StairMaster, 20 minutes elliptical, crunches and ST. Last Tuesday when I had planned to get on the StairMaster there wasn't one available when I got to the gym. It's okay I ran on the treadmill and had the incline pretty high. I was sweating so much and loving every minute of it.

Trying new thing's and lovin' it!

Monday workout: 50 minutes..elliptical, ST and abs.


Hi wonderful peeps!!!

I'm feeling good today. My throat was hurting a little bit this morning but it's gone now. I'm glad that medicine worked. I thought I was going to have to spend time and money at the Dr's on Friday. Ugh.

We had a really good workout last night. I'm starting to realize that I don't have to be at the gym for hours to see results. I usually go for about 1 hr and get a superb workout. I think before when I was trying to lose weight it might have been the case. But now I'm trying to maintain and I'm happy with 1 hr after work for 5 days a week. My sister's think it's gross but I love seeing the sweat coming down my neck. I LOVE IT!! Tonight's workout plan is 30 minutes StairMaster, crunches, arm ST and then 30 minutes elliptical with Craig. He meets me at the gym after work. He usually doesn't get there until 6:30. Which gives me about 45 minutes to do my own thing. On Tuesday's I try to add more cardio.

So the reason for the title is...... I've been getting a lot of ideas from other bloggers. I'm addicted to blog hopping by the way. I love to read everything you all have to say. You all have so much knowledge and it just feeds my hunger. Some of the new things I've been trying are:

~ More veggies more veggies!!

~ Green Monster ( This smoothie is amazing)

~ Taking a picture of my food. It seems to help. It keeps me liable for what I'm putting in my mouth. I don't always get to take a picture of all the food I'm consuming but most of it anyway.

~ Not worrying about the scale. Just going on how I feel and again..maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Those are just a few things that seem to be helping me feel the way I feel. In the past I knew that I was not eating as many veggies as I should be. I kept saying I was going to add more but never really would. Just a tiny bit here and there. Seeing how great every one's food looks with all the colorful veggies motivated me to finally give it a try. I must say that I'm glad I did.


Let's all do something that we have been saying we were going to do for awhile now. Time to put the words to actions!!!!


Today I had a PB&J sandwich for breakfast with a Green Monster of course. Grapes for my snack, 2 ground turkey enchiladas and salad for lunch and edamame as my last snack. For dinner we are making pizza. Biggest Loser tonight. YAY!

Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

workout: 3 mile run...Susan G Komen Race for the Cure

The race started at 8:20 am. We were ready at about 6:30 am. I made a Green Monster smoothie with strawberries. It was my first time trying it with strawberries and I must say that it was not as great as I thought it was going to be. We put pink ribbons in our hair. Maybe next year we will try something more EXTREME with our outfits.



As you can see there was a lot of people there. It was great to see so many people come out and support such a good cause. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and getting a lot of free goodies.


We still had about 20 minutes here. We were just having fun and starting to get in the mood for our run.

Craig always there to support me. He is so patient and an amazing boyfriend. I say this a lot but I will keep saying it.......I am VERY lucky.



We had stretched already. I was taking a little water break and I also had a piece of scone from Wild Flower Co. They were passing them around. You can see all the free stuff we got in our bags. =)


Just passed the starting line. We were feeling pumped. I was listening to the new Brit song "3" at this point. I love it!!!


After the race. I made Vero and Craig pose together. They act like they don't love each other but I know they do. I love these guys. Oh and we have matching shirts on. Yeah we rock. LOL. They say Modern Family. We got them at the Disney Half Marathon Expo. We really like that show too.

This is our parentals. They showed up a little late but better late than never. =) They took us out to eat afterwards. Craig and I got a little bit sick from it too. LOL. We are just not used to that type of food anymore. It was yum though. I'm glad my family was able to make it for my sister's first run. I'm excited for the P.F. Changs RNR. I know my sister is going to enjoy it. Woooohooo.


It felt great to be out there running again. Every time I do a run I get reminded about how much I love it and I'm glad I tried it. I was so scared on my first run almost a year ago. I feel like I've come a long way since then. I hope I just keep getting better and keep enjoying it as much as I do now.
After the race we came home and took a well needed nap. We then went to Yogurtland and got some yummy froyo. Planned for the rest of the evening.......dinner and cuddling.
Hope you are all enjoying your weekend. Time to go back to work tomorrow. UGH. haha jk. I actually enjoy my job once in awhile. Actually, I enjoy the people I work with.

Bountiful Baskets

Happy Saturday peeps!

That's me yesterday ready to go watch Zombieland. It was really good. It was a lot better than I thought it was going to be. Very bloody but very funny. There were a few parts that I was cracking up. Craig really liked it too.

So this week I tried something new. I've been hearing about this great deal where you pay 15 DOLLARS and they tell you where you go pick up your basket of goodies. I thought it was a good deal and had heard great things about it so I decided to try it. This is what I got for my money. I think it was a GREAT deal and I'm glad that I tried it. I got so much stuff. The apples are stacked. I don't know if you can tell in the picture but there was a lot of stuff. I used some of the onion this morning and I plan on using some of the bananas with my Green Monster later as a snack.
Tonight we are going to the Central Cruise to check out some nice older cars then going to dinner. I won't be out too late tonight. My sister and I have our 5k in the morning. I am super excited! Wooohooooo.
Oh and I bought the new Britney Spears song for my pod. I will be jammin' to it during my run.

Headaches...suck


This morning I woke up about 4am with the worst headache. It's been about 4 days now that I wake up with a really bad headache. It's really starting to annoy me. I went today to get sinus headache medicine. I hope this helps. If not then I will be making a Dr's appointment soon.


Okay on to a not SO "bad" mood Betty. =) Today is Friday and as you know.... I love my Fridays. I don't work so they are all mine. Today I watched a movie, Friends and did my nails. I also cleaned a bit and washed clothes. Tonight we are going to the movies to watch Zombieland and to dinner with friends. I'm going with three boys. This should be interesting. My boyfriend has been wanting to go see Zombieland for awhile now. Me not so much. It kinda seems really dumb but Craig said that it's supposed to be. We will see. The more I see the commercial for it the more it seems I'm going to like it.


I haven't worked out today. I'm planning on doing 30 day shred and also Turbo cardio mix but I honestly don't know if I'm up to it. Sometimes you just have to listen to your body and rest which is what I might do.


Oh the other night we did have chicken kabobs and they came out pretty good. The brown rice was delicious.


For breakfast this morning I had multi-grain Cheerios with granola and a slice of toast.


For lunch I had a lean cuisine chicken quesadilla.

For a snack I had watermelon and granola bar.


We went to look at costumes again last night. This time my sister went with us. I think I might have found my costume. It's not something that I would have chosen but it fits good and I like it. I still didn't buy it though. I'm sure we will go this week and I'll get it.

I love me some Green Monster!!!

Monday workout: 45 minutes..elliptical and crunches
Tuesday workout: 45 minutes...treadmill and elliptical

I need to start adding more ST. I was doing pretty good for awhile but since I haven't been feeling that great I guess I've been a little lazy. I need to get back on to it though.

I finally tried my first Green Monster and it was SO good. I was really surprised. I think the green scared me off a bit. I am so happy that I found out about the Green Monster Movement on http://ohsheglows.com/ .Thank you so much. I've been having them every morning since Saturday. I've tried two different kinds so far. I'm going to look for other recipes. LOVE IT!!!! Before I would get way hungry before lunch and start munching on a couple things. Usually fruit or a clif bar. But now that I have the green monster it helps me stay fuller much longer. I still have a fruit or some veggies as a snack before my lunch.



Today I woke up feeling worse than Friday. My throat and my head are killing me. I know I've been saying that I'm getting sick for like the last two weeks but I am. I can feel the difference in my body. I feel so icky. Anyway...I'm going to continue and fight it off. I am resting today though. I don't want to feel sick for my sisters and I 5k. We registered last Friday for the Susan G. Komen 5k run. That would be my sisters first "race." I'm really excited for her. Plus I know she will enjoy the atmosphere. Whoop! I'm sure I'll have lots of pictures. I went and bought pink ribbon for our hair the other day. We still don't have our tops. I guess we better start looking.

I've been mixing a few things here and there for breakfast. Yesterday morning I had multi grain Cheerios mixed with granola and banana. It was delicious.

Monday morning I had a slice of toast with peanut butter and granola on top. Of course I also had a green monster.


For dinner yesterday we made pizza on the Flat Out wraps. Mine had spinach, tomato, red bell pepper and a few turkey pepperonis. It was DELISH!!!! (Sorry for the sucky picture. )


Today for lunch I am having tilapia with veggies and maybe brown rice. I love Tilapia!! For dinner Craig bought us chicken kabobs. I've been wanting some FOREVER. Yum can't wait. We are having them with brown rice also.

So glad it's Friday.

It doesn't really feel like a Friday. I think it's because I'm feeling a little sick. My sister came over so we could go running but we postponed it until tomorrow. We were both feeling a little under the weather. I did make us a yummy breakfast.....


Whole wheat bread with eggs and spinach. I'm still experimenting. As u can see I had already finished the other half. It was very filling.



For lunch I had leftovers. Whole wheat and multi grain noodles with chicken and spinach. Also I don't remember the cream on the pasta but it's delicious.

Had a peach for my snack today with some granola. (which I LOVE)


We also went shopping. I bought myself some new boots. Can't wait to wear them and post a picture. We went and looked at Halloween costumes. I'm not sure yet which one I'm getting but I know it will be cute. After that I had planned to go to the mall for a little shopping but I decided to stay in and rest. If we are going running tomorrow I know I need to make sure I'm feeling better. I stayed home and cleaned a little. I watched Friends and did some blog hopping. Tonight we are thinking Jason's Deli and Halloween shopping again. We had plans to go to happy hour with some work peeps but that was cancelled also.


Nothing much going on today. I did go shopping and bought some fun new foods that I saw on other blogs. Thanks everyone for the great ideas.
I plan on having my first Green Monster tomorrow. Yay. I will let you know how it comes out. =) Also I'll post a pic of my cute boots and also my new phone. It's pink and pretty. (Pretty in Pink)
