I miss flip flops!

Back to work tomorrow......

I'm pretty happy to be going back to work. It might seem weird but I really missed working. It's nice to mix things up once in awhile but I'm ready to get back to the norm. I want to wake up early and go to work then come home and workout. Wait for Craig to get home and have dinner together. I love my life and everyone in it.

Friday night we went to California Pizza Kitchen for dinner. We ordered two pizzas so we could each choose one. We ate a lot of it but had a lot leftover. I chose the Tostada pizza and it was so good. We will definitely be going back for that one!! YUM.

We had planned to go watch a movie afterwards but when we got to the theater there wasn't anything that was about to start so we decided to skip it. On Satuday morning I went over to my parents since Vero and I had a 6 mile run planned. When I got there her knees were really hurting her so I told her we should take it as a rest day. I didn't want her to get injured. I talked to her today and she said her knees are doing better. We are running tomorrow afterwork. I hope it goes well. Saturday evening Craig and I went over to our friend's house to watch the UFC fights. There were some good fights and it was a lot of fun.

Sunday morning Craig made us pancakes and we watched Back to the Future. GREAT MOVIE!!! When it was over I went to Sports Authority. Craig met me for lunch at Paradise Bakery....his first time going there. I had the chicken walnut half sandwich and tomato soup.

We went to a few stores and I tried on a lot of clothes. I didn't buy anything but it was fun. I can't wait for Spring and Summer to get here already. I miss shorts, skirts, tank tops and flip flops so much. I want to just slip on my sandals and be ready for the day. Things are just so much easier in the Summer. I used to be more of a Winter kind of gal but now it's all about Summer for me.

We knew we wanted to watch the Superbowl so we ordered Papa Murphy's Pizza. We have been wanting to try it for awhile now and went for it. Before eating our pizza I made us some quick side salads.

This was my choice....It was an artichoke, spinach, chicken and garlic sauce pizza. Craig chose the meatLite pizza. Both were on really thin crust and we really liked it. I see this in our future again.
We have a lot of pizza leftovers now. We will be eating it sometime this week for dinner. We watched the football game and the Saints WON!! The score was 31-17.

I just finished making lunch for tomorrow and I'm about to make a running purchase......

I mixed zucchini, tomato, corn and red pepper together. I also made some rice to have with it. YUM.
AND
this is the purchase I'm thinking about making. Recover running socks. I LOVE pink but I know the black ones are more versatile.

Product Description.
"The use of compression socks produces a major fluid shift improving venous blood return to the heart, allowing for better cardiac output thereby aiding oxygen delivery to working muscles. As a result, increased endurance and better performance are obtained during any sport activity.
Our Patented Graduated Compression socks are designed to stimulate circulation in those areas where gravity has a greater effect on blood return, such as feet and lower legs. That is why this item is a must for every runner, after hard training and race to speed up recovery. Let them work for you even while you sleep."

Knee pain and KT Tape

Woohoo Friday!! I have a lot of cleaning to do today. Since Craig and I were home a lot this week we have a mess. I was trying to clean up a little here and there but we would just turn around and make another mess. I have a lot of laundry to put away and wash, kitchen clean up, living room clean up...SO MUCH. I also have P90X to do. This morning started out with a green monster and an egg/spinach scramble on a sandwich thin.

Yesterday I went running with my sister. We only did 2 miles because her left knee was really bothering her. I thought the new shoes would really help. We had a good 5 mile run the other day but now I don't know what else she can do. She has also been icing it.

I hope we figure something out soon since the half marathon is only a few weeks away. Tomorrow we are running 6 miles and we are trying KT Tape.

"KT Tape™ is an elastic athletic tape that allows athletes to compete at the top of their game. Used as a preventative taping system, KT Tape enables athletes to perform at their highest levels with confidence."

"KT Tape provides immediate relief from Runner’s Knee by providing support to the patella tendons and aligning the knee cap for better tracking over the joint. The support provided is similar to a patella knee band but KT Tape is very comfortable to wear and doesn’t constrict circulation, therefore not interfering with normal body mechanics."

Hopefully this will help. If not I will keep looking for more information. If you have any advice or tips we can try.....please let me know I would really appreciate it.

Yesterday for lunch I made Salmon with asparagus and carrots. It was really good. Craig and my sister said that it looked like something you would eat at a restaurant.

And for dinner we went to Subway. Craig was tired of being at home and needed to get out for a bit.

I was so hungry by dinner time that I just started eating before taking a picture.

Last night we watched Heat and just relaxed. Craig seems to be a bit better which makes me happy. He went to work today. He was nervous about having to sit the whole day and how it might affect his back. I hope it goes well.

Oh and my friend Faby made me something for my bday that I want to share with all of you.
She hand drew this. AMAZING!!! I'm going to buy a nice frame for it and put it up.

Enjoy your Friday!!!

Training and More Training

This week has been WEIRD! I took Tuesday off from work due to a stomach ache. That same day Craig hurt his back and came home from work. He can barely move. I've been his "nurse" for the past two days. I help him move from the couch to the table and so on. I can tell he is in a lot of pain and I feel bad for him. He isn't used to laying down for very long. He is always moving and doing things. I took him to the doctor's yesterday and they gave him muscle relaxers and stronger pain medicine. The Dr. just said he needs to take the meds and rest as much as possible. I decided to stay home with him today too since he can barely move. I hope his back gets better soon because I hate seeing him like this. I know he wants to be up already.

Running update:

A few days ago I ran with my sister again...we ran 5 miles and she did awesome. We did take a few short walking breaks. When we first started running she had shin pain but after awhile it went away and she said she felt great. She said the new shoes felt amazing and she could really tell the difference from her old running shoes. Today we are running 3 miles and on Saturday we are running 6 miles. We only have about a month left and I think she realizes how close that is. I'm really proud of her.

I was looking at Nike Youtube videos and I saw so many that I really liked. They are all so motivating. This was one of my favorites.....

Also Craig made a video from the 2010 P.F.Chang's Half Marathon. These are pictures and video that I took when we were running.

Thanks Craig for putting that together for me.

We also kind of decided on what we might wear for the EP Half Marathon in March. It's 4 of us running it together. Ramon, Vero, Cristina and me. We were thinking about maybe having 2 people wear one color and the other two wear the other color. These are the shirts.

Hope you have a great day!!

Betty

Question: Do you have any videos that just make you want to move? I really like the nike commercials.

P90X and Snow Day

This weekend was AWESOME!!! Friday I had great workouts that included P90X and running with my sister. Friday night we went shopping and to dinner. I bought a cute nike top and I'm sure you will see it sometime soon on my blog. On Saturday morning Craig and I did P90X together since we both had to do the same dvd. It was Kenpo X and it was about an hour long. I really like it though and I burned a lot of calories. This is Craig working out...
And this is Craig and I saying BRING IT!!!
So far I'm loving this program and I plan on sticking to it. It has been a bit hard to fit in running and doing this everyday but I will make it happen. After working out I went to my parent's...every Saturday I try and make it to my parent's for a few hours. My sister, mom and I went out to lunch and talked. Saturday night Craig and I had planned to go watch a movie and also go to dinner. We went to Jason's Deli and I had a grilled chicken wrap that also included jalapenos. Well as soon as we stepped out of the restaurant my stomach was killing me. I could barely walk..it hurt so bad. I asked Craig if we could skip the movie and we went home. He was awesome as always and took care of me. I don't know if it was the jalapenos or what but I felt horrible. He made me some tea and I layed down. This morning I woke up feeling much better and decided to go along with our plans for the day. We had breakfast and got ready for our Snow Day!! I put on 3 pairs of socks, my black tights under my jeans, and like 3 tops including a long sleeve. I also took 2 sweaters and more socks...Just incase. I need to buy a big jacket for when we go to the snow. When we got there most of the roads were blocked off because of so much snow but we found a spot and had SO MUCH FUN. We went sledding for a bit and made some snow balls.
The drive up was fun..we listened to The Beatles White Album and Craig we sang along.

Craig made a snowball and threw it at me.....
I made found a HUGE snowball and tried to throw it at him!

Sledding was fun. It was my first time doing it and I was a bit scared at first but got over it pretty fast. On our way home we stopped at had lunch at Knotty Pine. We were both pretty hungry by then. Walking in the snow is quite a workout. We were both so tired by the time we got home. We took a nice nap and woke up even more tired but had to get over it quickly because we had plans with my sister. We wanted to go to a different Sports Authority to check out the shoes there. My sister found some she really liked. She said they feel really light and the cushion on the heel is what she was looking for. We are running tomorrow so we will see how they do. These are it.....

She bought a couple running shorts and I bought another running nike shirt and some nike running compression shorts. I'm very happy with my weekend purchases. I needed new workout clothes badly. Plus it's fun to get cute workout clothes once in awhile...helps keep me motivated. =)

Question: What are some things that help keep you motivated to live an active life?

Hope you all had a great weekend!!

My foot is better!

Happy Friday!!! This week went by pretty fast for me. I had Monday off so that helped. This week I started P90X and I LOVE IT so far. I've been sore since Monday. I also went running with my sister today and my foot felt awesome. I can still feel it a little sore once in awhile but overall I feel great. Good thing too because I have a half marathon to run on March 7th. We booked the hotel this week so we are all set to go. I haven't registered yet because I was waiting for my foot to get better but we are registering in a couple of weeks. I'm really excited about running the El Paso Half Marathon because my sister is finally going to run her 1st half. Woohoo! I am so excited for her. I know she will love it. Tonight we are going to Sports Authority for a few things and she is going to check out some running shoes. She says her shins really bother her and I think it's her running shoes. She has had these shoes for YEARS and she needs new ones. I know that's one of the issues.
We aren't sure what we plan on wearing yet. I know...that doesn't really matter as long as we are ready but a girls gotta look cute too.

Last night Craig and I watched "This is it" and I loved it. He still had the moves....
This morning after breakfast I watched "He's just not that into you"
This movie is SO right on. I loved the Jennifer Aniston/Ben Affleck story. I'm glad that they ended up together.

I didn't have a lot going on today or this week. Sorry for the lame post.

Today on the agenda:

~ Wash dishes
~ Laundry
~ Nails
~ P90X-Legs & Back, Ab Ripper X
~ Make dinner
~ Sports Authority

Have a great weekend!!!

Slumber Party and P90X

Is it Monday already?! This weekend went by so fast. I had a wonderful weekend, full of laughter. On Friday Craig and I tried out a new restaurant. We went to Kabuki Japenese restaurant. Craig had beef teriyaki and I had Salmon. Our meal started out with Miso soup.

They both came with salad and brown rice. My Salmon was delicious and I ate most of it. It was a lot of food. The night ended with a movie at home.

On Saturday I went to my parents and did some shopping with my sister and brother. I also said good bye to my dog...the one our family dog had a couple of months ago. I wasn't sure if I was going to be bringing him home and by Saturday had made the decision to let my Aunt have him. I know I don't have the time right now that the puppy will need. I was a bit sad about it but I know it's for the best.

Saturday night Craig and my sister had planned a "Slumber Party" for my bday. I was super excited about this idea because this meant that I could wear pajamas and we wouldn't have to go anywhere. LOL. The lazy in me came out. We had such a great time. I'm glad that I can say my sisters are my friends and when I think about who to hang out with...they are the ones I think of. So my two sisters, their friends, Craig and I had our pj's on and hung out. We played Twister....

We danced A LOT!!!

Craig is such a goofy nerd..adorable!!!

We took a couple of group pictures
We fell asleep pretty late. After the games were over we decided to put in a movie and talk. When we woke up in the morning we were all pretty hungry. Where else do you go when your a bit hung over and want cheap food?! DENNY'S!! LOL.

Yup we went in our pj's.That's what's up!! LOL
We spent most of the day watchign movies and playing Scene it. My little brother came over and we all went out to dinner. We decided on something cheap again...Cici's pizza.

When everyone left Craig and I finished watching the football game. We were both so tired and both fell asleep on the couch. We were OUT cold.
This morning I woke up to a lot of text messages. I was so happy to wake up to Craig and the people I love wishing me the best. Craig then gave me my bday gifts. One of those gifts was....

YAY!! I have been wanting one of these FOREVAH!!!! I also got a Sports Authority gift card. Can't wait to go shopping!!!
Most of the day I've been relaxing. I love doing this on my birthday. I request it off every year and I enjoy it being SUPER lazy during the day. I watched Waterworld and The Ugly Truth. I also made a delicious lunch consisting of Tilapia, veggies and brown rice.

My eyes were bigger than my stomach because I couldn't finish it all. I left half of it for tomorrow.

And now....I'm about to start p90x. Eeeek! I am super nervous but ready to start something new. I hope I get great results. This weeks dvds are..

Monday-Core Synergistics
Tuesday- Cardio X
Wednesday- Shoulders & Arms, Ab Ripper X
Thursday- Yoga X
Friday- Legs & Back, Ab Ripper X
Saturday- Kenpo X
Sunday- Rest or X Stretch ( I think we are hiking)

After my workout I'm getting ready for dinner. Craig is taking me out for my bday. =)

Have a great night peeps!!

Catch up time...

Okay so since last Sunday all I've done is talk about the P. F. Chang's Rock N Roll Marathon..... I am so sorry about that. I hope I still have some readers out there. I was just so pumped about the whole thing and I had so many pictures I wanted you all to see. =) I promise this post is not about the run.....

I need to catch up on a few things:

1) On Monday we went to the Barrett-Jackson Car Auction. We knew we were not buying a car. LOL. We just wanted to go look around. It was a lot of fun and not what I excpected. My foot was still very sore on Monday so it took us longer to walk through the whole thing but it was a nice day and we really enjoyed it. I wanted to treat Craig to something for being so supportive and I knew this was something he would really like. I wanted so many cars...too bad there isn't any money, cash, dinero, mula, currency. LOL...I'm a dork. I did take a picture with my future car though.

2) I told you about some granola bars we got from the expo. Well I finally tried one on Tuesday and it's super good. Craig loves them too. He's eaten most of them.

3) It's been raining all week here in Arizona. I LOVE it!! It's the best. Craig said that by the end of the week I would be tired of it but it's Friday and I'm NOT!! It's just so comfy. I will say that I feel lazier on a rainy day though. Also the tree infront of our place was knocked over.

Here is a picture from this morning. I love waking up to the sound of the rain on our window. I woke up in such a great mood knowing I didn't have to go to work and knowing Craig was next to me.

4) Biggest Loser... I am a die hard fan. I've been watching this show for a few seasons but lately I feel so irritated when I'm watching it. I found myself yelling at the t.v. with this weeks episode. I would have sent Michael home. If he isn't working as hard as the others then he needs to go home. I know there is a lot that we don't see. I just hope he takes advantage of the opportunity.

5) Monday is my birthday!! Eeeek.. I will be 26 years old and to celebrate Craig is taking me out. We are also having a "Slumber Party" tomorrow night. I'm sure I will have fun pictures to post. We are playing games and just staying up most of the night. I don't really like to go out and this is more my type of thing. It will only be about 6 of us but I know we will have a ton of fun. I'm really exited. I also plan on drinking...which I haven't really done in about 2 years!!! Let's see how my stomach handles that. hahaha I've been known to have a really bad hangover the next day.

Tonight Craig and I are going out to dinner. We are craving Japanese food and have a place in mind. We also need to go to a couple of stores for some last minute things we need for tomorrow. About to hop in the shower and get ready....have a good night!
